Brujas (Witches)

¡Cuidado con las brujas!

¡No te vaya a chupar la bruja!

Those are two warnings that you might hear in any small town in Mexico. Translated, they mean “Beware the witches!” and “Don’t let the witch suck on you!” (OK, I realize that last one might sound dirty. Get your mind out of the gutter, this is supposed to be a scary story!) Witches, or brujas, are a major part of Mexican beliefs. Women don’t leave the windows open in their children’s room for fear that they will be taken away. It is a common belief that leaving a pair of scissors in an “X” either under the crib or tied by the window will ward off the bruja. In markets you can buy amulets that will protect the wearer from the curses and spells that might be cast against them.

Tonight’s blog is about witches, but not like you know them. I’m not talking the classic pointy-haired, green-skinned cackling hag that we see all over the place this time of year. I’m also not talking about all the people that practice Wicca. The bruja is a lot more than that. Simply uttering the word can cause panic depending on what part of the country you’re in. Brujas are both feared and sought out, and people tell you that they are REAL. They will come in the night and suck the life out of your children, drive you mad and curse you. But the term can be used to describe a psychic, a healer, a conjurer who casts spells or just someone who has dreams about the future that just happen to come true. (I’m talking about yours truly, but that’s something we’ll leave for a different post.)

My dad told me a story about the time he and a group of friends went camping. They were teenagers and wanted to have a camp-out on their own, sort of a rite of passage for them to show they were turning into men. They decided to visit Puebla, a place with hills and mountains that provided just the rough terrain that a group of young men desired to prove themselves. They loaded up on supplies in one of the small villages and then headed for the mountains. After hiking for a while they found the perfect spot to set up their camp for the night. They set up their tent and built a fire. One of them proudly announced that he had gotten his hands on a bottle of liquor. That should have been the highlight of the evening, but strange things were afoot. As they looked across the valley towards another mountain, they noticed some strange lights making their way up and down the mountain. At first they dismissed the lights as headlights, but there were no roads that went straight up and down. The lights also appeared to be moving faster than any car they had ever seen. There was something about the lights that mesmerized the group, they couldn’t stop watching them. All of a sudden, darkness enveloped them all. This was not the normal darkness of the night. No, this was something else. It was darkness like none of them had ever known. My dad says that even with the camp fire, you could barely make out the person next to you. Then they were all overcome with fear, panic as if something was out to get them. They became frantic, not knowing what was going on or what to do. One of the guys grabbed a pair of sticks and made himself a makeshift crucifix. They all huddled around it by the fire, shivering with fear. They then took out the bottle of liquor and drank until they passed out.

The next morning the guys woke up and headed back down the mountain. They decided to stop at a small village for breakfast. They were still talking about the previous night’s events when some of the locals overheard their conversation. They proceeded to tell the boys that what they had witnessed were brujas. The locals said that brujas lived in those mountains and that they would search for unsuspecting hikers that they could kill, eat and use for their spells. They had caused the darkness and the feelings of panic and that the further away the lights appeared, the closer they were. They had been lucky to have come back alive according to the local townsfolk. My dad and his friends made their way home and never returned to that place. To this day, any strange light reminds my dad of that evening and he gets a glint of fear in his eyes.

I will leave you with a video that has made the rounds on the internet. It has been featured on several Spanish news programs and attempts have been made to replicate it. The commentary is in Spanish, but you can see what the video appears to show: a flying humanoid shape that has been labeled a bruja by Mexican authorities. I'll let you watch and judge for yourself.

    1. People wake up---In Mexico especially Dulce Mexico and Arizona they have labs underground and tunnels. They are making biogenetics. Governement and globalist are preparing to have population think that ALIENS will be invading when in reality its the devil. Globalist and numerous politicians are warshipping the devil. They will try to make a second coming of Jesus Christ and have people think these things are aliens when in reality they are demonic beings. Look into the Reptilian Race by David Ike and Arizona Wilder----see how more and more celebrities warshipping evil. and getting the ignorance of people in population to believe its aliens. ITS NOT people read REVELATION Bible what is happening in IRAN killing of Christian has to do with the devil being unleashed.

There are no Greys or reptilians, Icke is a deluional madman and Jesus in't coming to save you. Of course, there's no Anti-Christ to ave you from, so I guess you're really just jerking yourself off.

  2. totally true. My parents are from Puebla in a pueblo near the mujer dormida, and they have told me about the brujas. They say that they have wings and feet like turkeys, my dad told me when the brujas was going to suck my aunt when she was a month old. Fortunately my grandpa woke up and scared the witch away.

    1. This all has to do with the biblical scriptures. In Mexico they have tunnels underground practicing Satanism and abducting people every day to sacrific and eat. Just like all the students missing in Mexico no one bothers to talk about the underground alot of these rituals are happening underground and these people who warship devils are millionairs like the Rothchilds, Rockerfellers, Politicians, Military Personnel are all into devil warshipping. They will try to get the ignorance of the town to think its aliens these things are either genetically man made or demonic beings. Read Biblical Revelations. ALOT of these things are from underground all by devil warshippers they call them the REPTILIAN RACE they want people to become afraid. DO NOT become afraid

    2. Worshipping.. Not (warshipping)..

They only have power IF you and others give them power. Personal experience of my own mother and what she worships. What she believes. Its a dangerous practice and very dark. God doesn't want anyone to be entangled with pure ,raw fear. That will allow evil to enter your lives. Believe in God and trust in God, God will keep you safe from those who don't believe in God, goodness and blessings..

  3. Well my family is from northern Mexico and live in Cali and Arizona now but my father's abuelita (from Mexico) claimed to be a witch as was her whole side of the family. She passed when I was little but her husband believes that he was cursed by her with long life. He will be 101 this year. Not really a horror story, just family history.

    1. I grew up in tijuana which is also northern Mexico and we also believed in witches however we believed in both the good and the bad. In my family on my grandfather's side he was cudador a brujo of sorts. One time when I was a little girl I got burned on my leg from a motorcycle the burn was very bad a peeled alot of my skin my Abuelo wrapped up my leg in something that he had made in the kitchen it was hot and it burned alot he was grabbing on to the burn and saying something under his breath. Afterwards he wrapped in up and literally a couple of day later the burn was gone and all that was left was the outline of the burn today that outline is smaller than my thumb. I remember it so vividly because it was by far the most pain I have ever felt. Not all brujos and brujas are bad some are born this way but become overwhelmed with whatever darkness is in there soul. Yes they still closed the windows but we have alway been protected by our family background.

  4. In my family we believe in witches. We believe they come at night and take your babies soul. Especially now, I been having some weird scary dreams I can't wake from, where my 3 month baby is being taken away from me. My mom suggested the scissors in the X form and broom by the front door and a hat upside down on my room door and crushed garlic next to my baby in her crib

  9. We are at the end of times now and Gods judgement is soon to come. Make right with God and save your soul because no one else will do it for you. There is so much evil going on right now and it is hidden from sight. Beware of evil people they are every where and are practicing black magic behind closed doors. Many have sold their souls for a small price and do not percieve it. There are people who practice dark arts and worship demons.. And by worshipping these devils.. They give them the power to astral project their souls out of their bodies and can spy on you and you not even know it. They can go through walls and watch you while you are in The bathroom. You cant see them because its their soul that is out of the body. They only way you can see them if you judt happen to look in the mirror and they are behind you or something. Our government is filled with evil ones. They have two faces.. One they wear in public and the other when they group up together. We are not alone and if you see one they want you to believe you saw an alien. Reptilians are every where among us.. Our soul is their food.. They feed of our life force of energy and they want out complete destruction. U.S. is the land of the devil which means the devil lives right here in the U.S. The Reptilians are invisible... They live in another demention within our world. They can see us but we cant see them. Only ones that can see them are the ones that have sold their souls and have made pacts with them... Trators!!! Want to know more then e.m.a.i.l me..... Adsbyaj @ gmail

  12. I am Anglo and live in a mostly Mexican American and other Hispanic neighborhood. We have a gang living across the street from us and the do pretty much what they want to do when they want to. Everyone is afraid of them and no one ever calls the cops on anyone here. Can any Hispanic out there tell me what it means when a Mexican sets off fireworks every night? I get the feeling that the Hispanics in the neighborhood would like us to move? I'm not gonna call the Cops on them but I'd like them to stop with the fireworks! What's going on?
